Your Support Means Everything
Your support keeps the Raleigh Police Department Foundation moving forward. As an independent nonprofit, we rely on the generosity of our donors to fund vital training, equipment, and programs—providing more resources for our Raleigh Police Officers in the line of duty. Together, we can enhance officer safety, strengthen community connections, and help keep Raleigh a safe place to call home.
Summer Camps
For the past 3 summers, the Raleigh Police Department Foundation—alongside First Horizon Bank—has funded free summer camps, giving local youth the chance to connect with Raleigh police officers through positive activities. These programs not only provide valuable resources and experiences for kids, but also strengthen the bonds between officers and the community they serve.
Real Time Crime Center.
The Real Time Crime Center wall acts as a command hub for the Raleigh Police Department, giving officers a live view of unfolding situations. It allows for faster, more informed decision-making and proactive deployment of resources to help prevent crime before it happens. This technology is a game changer for public safety in Raleigh.
Mounted Police.
Mounted police patrols in Raleigh’s parks, greenways, and downtown areas offer a unique blend of security and community connection. These officers on horseback are highly visible, approachable, and often serve as icebreakers—making it easier for residents to engage with law enforcement. Thanks to support from the Raleigh Police Department Foundation, the mounted unit has expanded with new horses to deepen its impact citywide.
Meet Teddy.
Teddy is the Raleigh Police Department’s first-ever therapy dog, made possible through support from the Raleigh Police Department Foundation. Teddy plays a vital role in officer wellness, offering comfort during high-stress moments and supporting the mental health of even the toughest members of the force. He’s also become a beloved presence in the community, helping build trust through outreach events and school visits. After Hurricane Helene, Teddy was the first FEMA-requested therapy dog, serving those impacted with calm and compassion. From the roll call room to recovery zones, Teddy is more than a companion—he’s a critical asset to both the department and the Raleigh community.
Enduro Bikes.
Enduro bikes give RPD officers a fast, quiet, and durable way to patrol Raleigh’s 200 miles of greenways with minimal environmental impact. Fully equipped like motorcycles but with a much smaller footprint, they help cover more ground efficiently. No other department in the region has this kind of resource—made possible by support from the Raleigh Police Department Foundation.
Recon Bikes.
Raleigh Police Department’s Recon Bikes are enhancing safety and community connection in the downtown area. These eco-friendly e-bikes allow officers to respond faster than traditional patrol vehicles, especially in the central business district. They're efficient, approachable, and a smart solution for modern urban policing.
