ConnectRaleigh

Join us in making Raleigh the safest city in the country

ConnectRaleigh is a signature public safety initiative of the Raleigh Police Department Foundation. It is a technology-driven partnership that strengthens collaboration between the Raleigh Police Department (RPD), local businesses, and residents to help prevent crime and support faster, more effective investigations.

At the heart of ConnectRaleigh is a voluntary camera registration network that allows residents and businesses to register their security cameras with RPD. Registration does not give police live access to cameras. Instead, it enables investigators to know where cameras are located so they can request footage from owners - with consent - when a crime occurs nearby. This helps officers solve crimes more efficiently while respecting privacy.

ConnectRaleigh also encourages businesses and community partners to integrate modern security technology and best practices to enhance situational awareness across Raleigh. By leveraging private-sector investment and community participation, the program expands public safety coverage without placing the financial burden on taxpayers.

Through collaboration, technology, and trust, ConnectRaleigh empowers the community to play an active role in keeping neighborhoods safer - while giving law enforcement critical tools to respond and investigate when it matters most.

Residents and businesses interested in participating can learn more or register their cameras at connectraleigh.org.
