Recon Bikes.
Raleigh Police Department’s Recon Bikes are enhancing safety and community connection in the downtown area. These eco-friendly e-bikes allow officers to respond faster than traditional patrol vehicles, especially in the central business district. They're efficient, approachable, and a smart solution for modern urban policing.
Real Time Crime Center.
The Real Time Crime Center wall acts as a command hub for the Raleigh Police Department, giving officers a live view of unfolding situations. It allows for faster, more informed decision-making and proactive deployment of resources to help prevent crime before it happens. This technology is a game changer for public safety in Raleigh.
Mounted Police Unit.
Mounted police patrols in Raleigh’s parks, greenways, and downtown areas offer a unique blend of security and community connection. These officers on horseback are highly visible, approachable, and often serve as icebreakers—making it easier for community members to engage with law enforcement. Thanks to support from the Raleigh Police Department Foundation, the mounted unit has expanded with new horses to deepen its impact citywide.
Enduro Bikes.
Enduro bikes give Raleigh Police Officers a fast, quiet, and durable way to patrol Raleigh’s 200+ miles of greenways with minimal environmental impact. Fully equipped like motorcycles but with a much smaller footprint, they help cover more ground efficiently. No other department in the region has this kind of resource—made possible by support from the Raleigh Police Department Foundation.
